Donna Kay Erickson Gramlich (1950–2006) was one of the “faces” of Little Miss Sunbeam, the mascot of Sunbeam Bread. She was born in Champaign, the daughter of Darrell B. and Dorothy (Curtis) Erickson. Petite, blond, and attractive, Donna portrayed Little Miss Sunbeam from the age of five. She was a student of the well-known Thelma Leah Rose’s dancing school of Urbana. In addition to dancing, Donna was also an accomplished singer; her dual skills won many local and national talent and variety shows. While on tour for Sunbeam Bread, she made television and personal appearances before large audiences across the United States. Donna went on to become a flight attendant for TWA and a certified nursing assistant at the Champaign County Nursing Home.
